Fun Day 2020

Sunday June 28th

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 health emergency, for the avoidance of any doubt, the Councillors have made the difficult decision that this year’s event, due to be held on The Pavilion Field on Sunday 28th June, has been cancelled.

Please click on the event you are interested in to get further information and / or contact The Parish Council direct about a specific event and query.

At the Parish Council Strategy Day, usually held in September, members give consideration to the events that will have been organised throughout the year.

It is normal practice that a de-brief meeting will have taken place following each event where the organisational matters will have been discussed.  The Members will have spoken to attendees and press coverage and photographs will have been monitored.  Members include in their strategy a list of events that they wish to organise in the coming year.

The Calendar of Events is published soon after the Annual General Meeting and will provide ‘something-for-everyone’ throughout the year.  Wherever possible, we work with partners and local organisations.

There are two primary schools in our Parish and it is a great pleasure for us to join with them at their events and for the young people to take part in our events.

For example, the choirs sing at the Senior Citizens Christmas Dinner  and at the Christmas Fayres.

Our Christmas Fayres are very popular and well attended.  The Parish Councillors are keen to encourage the local groups and organisations, who use our community buildings, to attend and promote their groups, some use this for fund-raising too.

We are fortunate to have 15 bus shelters in our Parish and we have installed a photo frame in each and we insert posters to promote our activities.  Posters are also displayed in the library, schools and Drs surgeries.
